It took me FIVE months to finish this book! I don't even know what it's about. I was so excited for a new Cassandra Clare book but felt disappointed the whole time reading it. Thankfully the last 100 pages had content and is the only reason it received 3 stars. Hoping future books in the series will make more sense and have a real story.

Enjoyable audiobook read, some new ideas and storylines I hadn't encountered before and enjoyed and now I would like to read book 2 please.
I found the “political espionage” intrigue and thriller tone/theme set within the fantasy genre of the novel very interesting, and it was overall a fairly well written book.
I need all my friends to read this too so I can gush about how much I love the characters can't wait for the next one!!!!
Of course I absolutely loved this book, it's Cassie Clare who wrote it, one of my favorite authors. I had very high expectations for this book and it did not disappoint! It was so good - I loved everything from the characters to the world building (even though I had a hard time at first understanding everything that was going on in Castellane and the magic system and... everything basically)
