I really enjoyed this book, and it grew harder to put it down after each chapter. What I liked best, other than the characters, was the twists. What I thought was going to happen next had a way of not happening at all. I also enjoyed that it was a home-front story.
I felt that the faith message began as rather simplistic/surface and that turned me off at first. The characters seemed to say things they ought to without tangible motivations. However, it deepened toward the end and grew more relevant.
And I have to say...the cover is gorgeous, but what's up with '80s style dress? It kept throwing me off. The cut of her pants and his coat is definitely not 50s.
