This was an okay, easy read. The first half felt a little drawn out but it picked up once our couple were left alone and could work out their issues (something they could easily have done a long time ago). Some of the dialogue felt off for teenagers and the lightning storm was unintentionally funny.
I was really disappointed that the main characters both had romantic (and sexual - reading between the lines this was unprotected at least once for Zorie) relationships with others during the time that they were apart, aged 16/17 and while they were both allegedly still hung up on each other! This wasn???t even addressed as an issue but I felt so bad for Lennon???s girlfriend who presumably didn???t know he was ???in love??? with someone else when she decided to sleep with him.
The characters were otherwise okay, but this aspect made them morally unlikeable to me and lessened the impact of their intimate scene. Plus, since it really didn???t add to the story, I wondered why they needed to have sexual histories at their ages other than to make the story more ???sex positive???
I also didn???t like that she used a telescope to spy on him getting undressed in his bedroom. If it was a boy doing this to a girl I feel that there would have been a lot more complaints.
I haven't read YA contemporary for a while, I almost forgot reading YA could be this fun. I should start reading Jenn Bennet's book again. Oh, and Kasie West's.

For some reason I thought this book was about teens being lost in the forest, so it took me a while to adjust.
I liked this one, it was enjoyable, but... just missed the mark. Sometimes, especially in the beginning I was more bored. Then again, I'm also not a huge contemporary reader, so could have just been me. Once they are in the forest the story really picks up and I began to enjoy it.
It was so sweet and cute, I couldn't help but like it. The characters helped as well. Zorie has some cute quirks and I love all her plaid and even her planning, but she does a few things I couldn't understand the reasoning... then again, that is normal. Lennon is awesome. Well, a few things I wish he had done better, but he is just so cool. Together? They are perfect. They balance each other in certain ways and it was fun to read. Which just begged the question of how if they were this great together and best friends they didn't feel more comfortable talking to each other or going up to the other and going “wth???” , but oh well.
I liked the setting and probably preferred that they weren't lost. One less thing to worry about and they could concentrate on figuring out their problems and making up. The camping tips were cool and Lennon's maps were super cute. I liked looking at them.
There is some external drama too, which put a while other spin on things. I thought it was interesting and probably a good inclusion in case someone wants to read about a teen dealing with a parent's bigotry and a**hole-ness.
I enjoyed this enough that I will probably read more by this author and will recommend this one to others!
I was wavering between 3 or 4 stars...I think I'm about 3.5 but I'll round up. It was a little overly dramatic for me but the characters are likeable and I read it in one 5 hour sitting so t definitely held my attention. Loved the dialogue between Zorie and Lennon. Those two are 2cute.
It took me a bit to get into this one and while it didn't give me the same warm fuzzies as Alex, Approximately, I still really enjoyed it once the story got going. Zorie took some time for me to warm up to but I think that's intentional on the author's part. I appreciated the growth she experiences between the beginning of the book and the end. And Lennon! He was the best part in my opinion. He was perfectly witty and had some great swoon-worthy moments. This was an all around pretty decent book and Jenn Bennett is definitely one of those authors that I will read anything she writes!
