3.5 stars, rounded up, because it is Alexis F'ing Hall. Not as consistently hilarious as [b:Something Fabulous 58377135 Something Fabulous (Something Fabulous, #1) Alexis Hall https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1629130515l/58377135.SY75.jpg 91133409] (which should be read first), but a bit more substantial as both MCs are genderqueer and looking for a way to live as their true selves. I never quite connected to Orfeo though, primarily due to their lack of POV, so the romance with Peggy felt underdeveloped. Fortunately, Bonny and Valentine from Fabulous feature prominently, as does a significantly toned-down Arabella. The story includes a dreadful poetry reading that becomes something else entirely at Peggy's suggestion, a girl dressed as a boy named Bob who can't stop attracting dukes, and the most inept kidnapping ever. Something Spectacular contains sufficient humor to entertain, but the love story is not Hall's best.
Non-binary regency MC's, yes ✨ this one in the series was more introspective with fashion and society than travel and adventure.
