I really enjoyed this novel. It has been a while since I wanted to read every free moment I had. This book had me from the first page. I couldn't put it down. I loved getting the perspective of the characters that Picoult wrote about.

My only aside would be that I sometimes felt that the racism Ruth encountered was a little too on the nose. But that said, I think that everything she encounters has happens to people of color on a regular basis. I am willing to accept Picoult's representation of Ruth's life in light of the focus of the novel.

I think that many readers will love this novel. It strikes close to home with the events of the last few years. This novel will be sticking with me for a long time.
