The sexual and graphically depicted scenes in this novel are not for the squeamish and will be disturbing for some readers.

I don't have any triggers but I encourage you to look them up if you have any. This book crosses lines I didn't know existed.
That said, I found it was very slow and just didn't hit the punch for me. I loved the premise of it and absolutely loved how many times I said “WTF?!?!”, but I found myself falling asleep and being bored by a lot of the material that was in the book.
Hella dark and so not what I thought I was getting into. I thought this would be a fantasy??? But definitely is not. I mean, there is no way those surgeries and procedures will work in reality, but for the most part this is set in the real world.
There are graphic rape scenes – pages long – aannnnddd I just can't with that, you know?
Also lets throw out some more content warnings for: necrophilia (again, so many details and a sex scene there), child abuse in flashbacks, kidnapping, human experimentation/mutilation, pedophilia, ...I'm probably missing something.
If you like hella dark ... let's say horror with a touch of romance then you might like this one. This one went too dark for me.
