This series just keeps getting better.
I loved that even if it's a romantasy, it isn't overwhelmingly all about the romance. There is more romance here but the spice is just enough. The enemies-to-lovers trope didn't also falter even if they already had feelings for each other in book 1.
More than the romance, I am actually intrigued with the world here and its political and familial issues. It's like Game of Thrones but with fae and without the dragons - sad by the lack of dragons though, but we have a monoceros which is like a fierce and dark unicorn. Anyway, the plot twists were also timed well.
Great character growth too for both the main and side characters.
You all should read this book!!!

Maybe it's partly my fault that I listened to someone who said you could just pick up the second book and skip the not so great first that made me not give two craps about any of the characters. But maybe it's also partly the writing style wasn't for me anyway.
Okay, I am sure if I were to discuss this book with someone, loads of stuff I decided to just laugh at or ignore would come up as a bit cringey (is that even a word?π ). BUT, and hear me out, BUT. The way I enjoyed reading this book? Ugh, you can't even begin to imagine.
I screamed out loud, I laughed, I gasped. Oof, I did really enjoy reading this book.
But what's worse, is that fucking ENDING!!
Evie, what the hell? π₯² I don't even know how many books this series is going to be but I'll be reading each and everyone of them, thank you very much.
I'm here for the growth of Sabine and to see her become the badass that I know she is. And also? For many more pages of Wolf worshipping her as a goddess. I SAID WHAT I SAID.
Aside from that, it is true I wished the fantasy aspect of the book got more development. More than development I wish we got more POVs from other characters, specially since there's a conflict that involves multiple teams, and it would have been so cool to know their perspectives.
But overall? It was an AMAZING book.
I'd like to thank Evie for gifting me an ARC and letting me enjoy her book ahead of release π₯Ήπ«Άπ»
