Greased made me physically nauseous. What a way to end a collection!

The problem with reading a bunch of Ito stories back to back like this is you realize huh the guy only has like 3 ideas. And some of the variants get real stupid.

A classic obviously but sometimes Junji Ito is just like “what if someone was ugly... wouldn't that be scary?”

Some very good ones and some less good, but generally enjoyed all of them! (Greased, Marionette Mansion, Honoured Ancestors, Cursed Frame 5; Shiver, Hanging Blimp, Long Dream 4.5; Painter, Used Record, Fashion Model 4*)

classic junji ito, thoroughly enjoyed 

I really lived this book. There were some grose moments and none of the stories were to sjort or to long. The author managed to capture creat eximnet and terrifing stories in an amazing way.

The body horror on display in this collection is just kisses fingertips. I was just enthralled almost the entire time. There were a couple instances where I wish I could have looked away, in particular during “Greased” (if you're into Doctor Pimple Popper then you'd probably be fine). I really loved “The Long Dream” - it's like the terrifying and awful version of “The Inner Light” episode from Star Trek TNG. I also really loved “Hanging Blimp”, which has such an odd premise but the sight of the face blimps hanging in the air had so much more of an ominous and eerie quality than a funny one.
Highly recommended if you love body horror and horror in general! Not at all recommended if you're squeamish!
