Definitely a solid read. Nicholas sparks is one of my autobuy authors and this one had all the good stuff!
I have been a fan of Nicolas Sparks for as long as I can remember and as I am sure all of you know by now he is my favorite author so it would really surprise me if I didn't like one of his novels.
Nicholas Sparks has done it again. When I started reading this book I was immediately thrown off because the tone is completely different to other books I have read by him. So initially I was really worried I wasn't going to like it because it was different but boy was I wrong.
It did have a little bit of a slow uneventful start but it picked up about halfway through.
Colin's personality was weird and hard to get used to at first but the more I read the more he grew on me and the more I understood him. He has some what of a past so I can completely understand why he is the way he is. Even though I had a hard time with it to start with it's actually one of the qualities that made me love his character even more.
Maria... I don't really have a whole lot to say about her. She came off more like a teenager than a 28ish year old adult. Sorry I can't remember her exact age. Anyways I just didn't really connect with her at all.
It's not hard to figure out where the story is going but I will say there were a couple of twists I never saw coming.
Even though the characters could have used some work the plot is what drew me in and kept me going.
I know there has been a lot of people who don't like this book but I am not one of them. If you have been on the fence about whether or not you should read this book I think you should, just don't expect his typical story.

Not my favorite from Nicholas Sparks. It took me a while to get into the story and when I finally did, it felt too much like something I had read before. He's already written two books focusing on a stalker storyline, The Guardian and Safe Haven so I was disappointed that this book was so similar.
