Scarlet Odyssey

A good read and promising start

I can tell this is a story series for which I will be eagerly awaiting every new book. It has a novel magic system, a world-shaking quest, a hero of humble beginnings, hidden higher powers, and characters of depth.

Reading this reminds me of when I read Tolkien, Sanderson, or Jeff Wheeler.

As this is the first book, I get a little lost trying to remember all of the new, unfamiliar words for things and all of the characters, but I find the people that matter will keep coming up and remind me of who they are.
