Well, I liked this more than the first book. Mostly because I love seeing the character developement of Tory & Darcy. But I like that we have some romance here as well - I just fckin love Darcy & Orion ohmydayys. The scene in the swimming pool had me screaaming.
And why was this book just so much more funny that it needed be? I laughed my ass off so many times hahah.
I did feel a little bad about what they did towards Milton Hubert, and Seth and Max. The last two deserved it though..
I can't waiit until Darcy and Tory's Order forms emerge!! If Tory's not a dragon I'll be so mad..
Even though i did enjoy this book as much as the first one, this felt like a Naruto filler episode for me most of the time until like the very last part where all hell broke loose.
It was fun reading about how the twins got their revenge from each heir but I really feel like this could have been a novella. There was no need for this to drag out the entire book until the end.
All the little lore we got sprinkled during these revenge plans could have just been straight to the point. The best way I can describe this books's pace is y=x². You start off from the cliffhanger left from the previous book and then it just keeps going downhill in terms of plot and things happening. Then it starts to pick up again at the very end and end on another cliffhanger. You could just read the beginning and the end and call it a day.
So far i see a trend of 1 spicy chapter of Tory x Caleb per book and they still don't make sense to me apart from it being fan service.
I would highly recommend listening to the first 2 books in this series as graphic audio because that's the only way I found myself actually being immersed and starting to care/bond with the characters. The action and lore finally seem to have picked up at the end and I hope that this momentum will be carried throughout the 3rd book.
Better than book 1 as the characters finally started showing some determination.
I’m so unapologetically addicted to this series now.
My absolute favorite thing to do is read for fun and ZA is serving that good time on a silver platter.
It’s giving drama, revenge, humor, tension, action, the list goes on.
Can’t wait to read what else these authors have come up with.
I don't know. Spoilers ahead. . .
I am intrigued by the overall plot. But the meanness and trivial nature of the mmc's is really turning me off. One of the twins gets :pissed: on for crying out loud. Literally so many plot holes too. Seth says he initiated Darcy in his pack so he tries to sleep with her and says he feels the need to protect her, yet he's constantly hurting her. Especially at the end, he traps her and Tory in a pit and then leaves them when the nymphs show up. What?
I literally despise all the mmc's, and I'm wondering why the twins are so stupid. I don't know, I see a lot of positive reviews so maybe I'll give it one more book but if there's another peeing scene on someone I will be putting it down.
okay... WOW. people really do mean it when they say these books are addicting and that they get better each time because WHAT WAS THAT? AMAZING.
i loved learning more about darius and i really did feel for him. his father is such a dick but i can't fully say that i'm surprised.
lance and darcy really pull on my heartstrings a lot but i am for sure a caleb girlie for now. darius is VERY close especially after the ending of this book. i think he really does have a caring side, it's just in his blood to be a complete dickwad, which after meeting his father... it makes sense.
i'm already getting comfy to start book 3 because that ending needed me wanting way more.
There was nothing I didn't love about this book. Here are a brief list of my love notes to book 2.
The fact the girls stayed to fight for their place at ZA.The revenge plots against the Heirs. (My fav being the griffin shit).
Geraldine. Hands down my fav character as she cracks me up with all of her antics. The boys point of view. I love multiple points of view in a book.
I am here for all of Darius and Tory. Enemies to Lovers right. The action of the nymph fight.
I like the duel points of view. I liked this one more than the 1st. Im looking forward to the 3rd. I love the sister bond.
2022 second read -I forgot how action packed the end of this book is!! Once you've read the whole series, it's hard to pinpoint which book certain big events happen in and I'd completed forgotten that the first nymph attack happened in this book. When the twins start realising their power and using it together is such a powerful moment. Also the pool scene.
Ok this book was way better than the first. I think not having to set up the premise really helped move the story along.
Darcy and Tory are less annoying. We get perspectives from the boys, which helps humanize them. And there's actually spice!
Fae-book still drives me crazy and I think the whole fae/order thing is dumb. Like, just call them vampires. But they haven't said seed yet so I'm calling it a win.
