This was a delightful, irreverent reimagination of Romeo and Juliet. North's humour reveals a true love of Shakespeare, and the nature of the book encourages you to think about the text in a new way.
Very fun! I played through a few rounds and was certainly entertained. Might be just the trick for coaxing a reluctant reader into giving Shakespeare a shot.
The second of Ryan North's conversions of a Shakespeare play into a choose-your-own-adventure book. This one felt lacking compared to the first, with none of the “alternate” routes being as crazy. Entertaining enough though. Like how you have multiple chances to get a happy ending by applying common sense.
This was definitely one of the most fun and hilarious books I've read in a long time. If I could only get through the story without my character dying an early death...Then again, I guess that's Romeo and Juliet.
