Romancing the Beat

I have had an idea for a rom com for a couple of years and it just simmered in the back of my brain annoying me because, frankly, I don't know how to write a rom com.

Then I found Romancing the Beat. I flipped through it when I got it and shelved it with the idea.

But as ideas go, it would not let up. Today I opened this book and the file and finished planning my novel. I'm so thankful! Now I can sleep and complete my other work knowing my next project is planned and ready to go.

So simple, funny, and everything I needed.

Incredible. Wowed by how succinctly Gwen Hayes put down on the page what was previously an intuited jumble in my mind. Every time I write a romance outline, I'll be consulting her beat sheet. If you want to understand genre romance—buy this book!
