Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.I did not like this. If it weren't for Tahereh's beautiful writing and my unwavering faith in her ability to come back from this disaster, it would have received a 1-star rating. I am still totally reading the next one- I think Tahereh has something up her sleeve and this was just a little mistake. I'm going to sweep this one under the rug and move on with my life. The plot... what plot??? It did not exist. Nothing productive happened in this book. I swear that the first 200 pages of this book were utter filler, the next 200 pages were all about Warner and Juliette's breakup, and the final chapter was actually decent. Thank god this is a quick read otherwise I don't know if I would have made it through alive. I can tell that Tahereh is setting up something great, the transition for it was just plain horrible. It reminds me a bit of S.J. Maas' [b:Heir of Fire 20613470 Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3) Sarah J. Maas https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1460846511s/20613470.jpg 25128502], in which nothing happens and something will happen in the next book.Warner was the most annoying character to ever grace the page of a book. I loved him in the past two books, but all he did was piss me off in this book. He whined the entire time and I get that he was grieving for his father but good grief- this was not the same character that I knew in the past two books. The only character I liked in this book was Kenji. Bless his beautiful soul for the comic relief that kept me going. Nazeera was good too, but she popped up at random times and could have played a much larger and better role than she did.To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I feel awfully overwhelmed and borderline betrayed. I have high hopes for the next books, but this just didn't do anything for me.
