This book just isn't for me. It tries too hard to be funny, repeating every joke until it is long past gasping its last breath. I didn't find most of the humor to be funny anyway, because it's more on the silly/juvenile side rather than the clever/snarky type that I enjoy. I was too annoyed by this to get into the story, so I lost interest and had to force myself to get as far as I did.
This was hilarious and fast paced. Flew through the audiobook. The innumerable 🐎 jokes made this x10 more enjoyable!
This is a humorous fantasy that reminded me a lot of the show Disenchantment (but gay). If you like silly humor, you'll probably like it. It did not really grab me but it was a fun read.
Just the type of raunchy, silly but somehow very romantic fun that I needed. One of the few Kindle Unlimited books that I purchased for myself after reading. If you like MCs with dubious morals who are annoyed to find that they actually have a conscience when they meet someone who makes them want to be a better person, you'll love Loth the pickpocket/pretender Prince. Despite being freed from jail by the worst band of rescuers in history, somehow Loth and his red-haired cellmate “Grub” survive a dangerous journey and find their HEA together. Most of the book's humor is VERY broad (sex-crazed elves, a giant orc who likes to hit people, a fair amount of human and other forms of excrement), but other parts are more clever, especially the bantering between the two MCs. There are some similarities to Henry's previous book [b:Anhaga 45299217 Anhaga Lisa Henry https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1556157063l/45299217.SY75.jpg 70016592], but the goofiness has been turned up quite a bit and the problematic captivity angle has been eliminated.I can see myself re-reading this anytime I need an extra smile.
This was a fun and ridiculous read. The authors took a lot of tropes from classic fantasy such as Dungeons and Dragons (which is even referenced under a hilarious alternative name) and turned it on it's head, adding in a lot of sex and banter. If you need something more light-hearted and funny but still want a sweet romance with a plot, a definite recommend.
