Sooooo much happens in this book testing Charlie and his relationship with Travis, getting hit again and again by the unrelenting waves of unexpected scares, challenges, and responsibilities, some of which he has to face without his love/greatest pillar of support by his side. I could feel the raw emotions as if they were spilling out of him right in front of me: Charlie's insecurity, hopelessness, and loneliness, but also his resolve, strength, and love—for his family (that gets bigger and bigger with each book), for his passion, and above all, for Travis.

I'm so proud of Charlie for how much he's grown since book 1 and for being out and proud, not taking crap from any homophobic trash around him. He shows them who's boss with no remorse and I love it!

Shout out to Nugget the baby wombat for being the adorably mischievous little creature that he is
