What a quiet, small, but powerful rumination on memories of trauma from childhood. Beautiful.
A remarkable exploration of racial coding. I kept re reading conversations to discover nuances.
Enjoyed Zadie Smith's introduction as well.
This is one where the story itself isn't necessarily the most enjoyable read. But it's SO interesting! And everything it makes you question about your own beliefs and the discussion that follows makes it a must read.
