Ranma's mother hasn't seen him for a decade, so when a stranger drops a scroll containing the word "Ranma," she assumes her son has returned to her. The imposter moves in with Nadoka, and eventually the real Ranma shows up and fights the imposter over a sacred scroll and a secret martial-arts technique.
