Fans of Feist's world will have extreme reactions over this book. Many of what is known about the world and its lore were suddenly turned upside down or shown to be false in the face in an even greater enemy and threat. I don't have any problems with that, because I still find it coherent despite the altered background. This book sets a very fast pace though, it's like the first two books were the starting point and the journey and this one is speeding to the finale. The finale does not disappoint. It can be predictable but it has nice twists and touching moments. This story will destroy what is the known and the norm, and thus it creates a new beginning.
