Pono Finds His Flippers

I received this book from the author for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.

Pono Finds His Flippers captures the spirit of Hawaii and helps kids get an idea of how to swim for the first time, all the while taking them on a fun filled adventure with a lovely monk seal.

Using the fun-to-say lingo of Hawaiian natives, children are introduced to new words and meanings and will certainly fall in love with the pictures! Pono and Lani are fun characters that will encourage the young readers to try new things and have fun while doing so.

There is also a special bond between mother and son presented here, and the gratefulness and love built as they spend time together. So overall, Pono Finds His Flippers is a 5 out of 5 star book and I recommend it, especially as a summer read for kids under 6 or 7!
