OMG. This was the funniest, raunchiest series I have read in a long time. It's a good thing the trilogy was packaged together because I don't know if I would have continued to read after the first book. Vic Kalinski, self-proclaimed “High Duke of Assholery” starts out a misogynistic, selfish, violent asshole, and the author sort of redeems him by the end of book three, but without taking away all of his rough edges. I loved his wisecracks (although I felt guilty about loving them) and the way he calls Dan Arou variations on “hobbit” to refer to his short stature. Maybe a little too much explicit sex for my liking, but given Vic's personality, he's not going to be a narrator who likes to fade to black - he's going to relay every detail. And be forewarned that Vic does some really shitty things to Dan and other people before he wises up. If you can't handle infidelity, you will not be amused.
Not sure I have the stamina to read any more books about this couple (there's a spin-off series that features some of Vic and Dan's teammates) but I'm glad I survived this one.
