Plantation Shudders

I love the setting and the old plantation. I love the family and friends. Mostly I love Maggie! She is a great sleuth with a great personality. She is a little fiery and pleasantly honest. I like that there are so many secrets in this one. I thought it seemed like there were too many, but it turned out to be just enough. The hints didn't seem to make any sense, but the solution brought them all together logically. I can't wait to read another one of these!

This was a fairly good read. I loved the setting, and most of the characters were well written and interesting. The mystery aspect kept me guessing until the end.

The reason why it is only a 3 star read as opposed to a 4 star, was Maggie. She really came across as a judgmental bitch a lot of the time. Some of her inner thoughts, and the way she reacts to people and situations really made me dislike her.

In any case, I enjoyed it enough to probably read book two in the future.
