I guess when you've read a lot of haunted house stories they seem to meld together. While this wasn't exactly bad, there wasn't anything that made it stand out either. I was really hoping for more scary and fearful moments but it didn't deliver that, at least not for me.
Finally a good horror story, where the characters are well developped and credible.
How the author manages to place jump scares in the book, is amazing.
It would be perfect for a Mike Flanagan adaptation
