Owning the Sierra Nevada

In 1968, ten idealistic, young San Francisco Bay Area academics and professionals buy 20 acres of gorgeous mountain land in the Sierra Nevada. The group never develops the land but for one of them, an easterner, this particular rectangle of western wilderness becomes the object of a life-long preoccuption.
