I enjoyed the first half of this book, I liked the set-up and the relationships and it was great fun. However, as the resolution was happening it fell apart for me. I found the characters' actions ultimately annoying and a bit too unbelievable considering how they acted through the first 70%.
Comparisons to Time Traveler's Wife are way off base - this book has 10 times the cheese but none of the style. Nevertheless in its own way it was enjoyable, if you don't mind a completely perfect hero who calls the heroine “little minx” and an allegedly independent heroine who nevertheless spends most of the book under the hero's protection. If you can make it through the endless scenes of the H&H gazing into each others' eyes and murmuring sweet nothings, the final 100 pages that wrap up the loose ends of the time travel plot are actually pretty effective (as long as you don't examine the logic too closely). Not a bad debut.
