Our Deceptive Heat: When it Raines Omegaverse

Deceit is a key word in the Raines family. Nothing is as it seems at first glance, and everyone is hiding a secret of their own. When you are a daughter of Typhor Raines, your life is complicated from birth. The characters in this fictional Omegaverse world, have built dazzling in their intricacy and beauty sandcastles of hopes and dreams, hoping to hide within them, but secrets and unspoken truths can only stay buried for so long before the facade begins to crumble. Ryn, like her siblings, has pieced together the perfect Escape plan, or so she thought. A plan, that was supposed to be perfect, but when too many variables get involved, the plan turns into a flame. Even more so - when she relies on the assistance of the musicians in Fate's choice, who protect secrets of their own. This story in the Raines' omegaverse is by far my favorite. Here, Deception is front and center in creating a complex plot filled with a lot of emotional angst, pain, misunderstanding, and mistrust. Whether the years of their lives ,spent in fear and hiding in plain sight, were worth it, is at the heart of the story. This is one more beautifully written story, with the usual, careful attention to every detail. I was thrilled to follow Ryn, living on the razor thin edge of the vast greyness between the life she longs to claim as her own, the secrets that hold her back, and the men who have obliterated her determination and careful planning to ashes.
