Sooo
I was almost put off by the excessive use of expletives used, but I'm glad I stuck it out. I'm not really into romance because of all the sexual scenes either, but again, glad I stuck it out.
I love the friendships in this story, on both sides, the men and women. I would love more stories showing these friendships.
And can we talk about these men?! These men were very well written, and not in a fantastical and unbelievable way either. I enjoyed reading this book, and I appreciated the journey the main character had to grow through for her healing.
Edit: 11.7.24 - This is a reread. Now listening on audio.
Edit: 11.8.24 - OMG...even better the second time around. Janelle's sister and mom are still terrible. I would've fought Amerie for her foolishness and left the trip. Rome is still top tier book boyfriend and I will fight anyone who says different. I cried at the ending....AGAIN! Such a comfort read.
5/5 Chef's kiss!! No notes! EVERYTHING about this book was amazing! The dialogue was fantastic. In romance books, I have an issue with how men's dialogue is written and sometimes it comes off as not believable. However, this author hit the mark on how men speak and it was great to read! I immediately purchased the physical and annotated for reference. I will read this again in a year to see if I still feel the same.
