Loved it. A likable heroine who doesn't often succumb to hysterics and is more often the savior than the saved without being overly prickly about her independence and competence. A hunt for some nutbag. It was all riveting...except for that ending. That mild cliffhanger was not appreciated.
The heroine acting stupid more than once drags this from potential 4 to 3 stars.
This was.... good. I really still enjoy this writing, even though I am not a huge fan of reading all the sex and how gorgeous people are every 15 pages.
But, I love the story line and how things go down.
Most surprising to me here is how different Vlad seems.... I wasn't expecting it. I wanted a smartass, who yes is cold-hearted, and of course is loyal to his people, but I totally feel like there was something different about him...
I did like Leila though. I thought she was awesome and hardcore. I think the love thing happened too fast and I know I'll get annoyed with that later on, but I am excited to read more about her and how she will grow.
Loved the characters, both Leila and Vlad, and their witty dialogues. Very nice plot rich of suspense. can't wait for “twice tempted”, wanna know how the story continues ^_^
I like that the Layla has a very different power, electrocution and mind reading from an accident. She is a loner because of it. She meets Vlad in interesting circumstances. The book is very fast paced and stippled with some satirical humor. I listened to it in just one sitting. I found reasons to keep listening to it.
