On a Desert Shore

Bow Street Runner John Chase has been called upon to protect Marina, the daughter of rich London merchant Hugo Garrod. Transplanted from her home in Jamaica, Marina has failed at the London social scene and lives in isolation among the Garrod family in Clapham. Someone is playing malicious tricks on the young heiress, some of which harken back to the island heritage of Obeah, and Chase must determine if she is truly a victim--or something else.
