Not My Problem

Interesting premise and definitely a page turner, but it needed a little extra to have it be stellar in my eyes. I like the open ending and not having everything solved on page and Aideen admitting she needs help, but I feel like there should have been a more gradual structure of her slowly coming to terms with her situation and using other people's problems as an escape from her own. IMO that aspect wasn't explored, we didn't see Aideen come to terms with her coping mechanism in time, she just kinda realized it at the end, and even then it was brief. Readers can connect this being the reason for her behavior on their own but it would've helped the story to kind of delve into that aspect of the story more.

Ich hab es ziemlich schnell gelesen weil die story mich irgendwie abgeholt hat. Ich fand die Figuren ziemlich gut und auch wenn es mich in büchern normalerweise immer stört wenn sie nicht communicaten und ihre probleme ignorieren fand ich es in diesem buch verständlich deswegen hat es mich nicht so gestört. Ich fand es auch gut dass aideen holly am ende abserviert hat, das hatte sie verdient. Meagh hat mir meistens ein bisschen leid getan und kavi war einfach slayy

it's such a nice thing when you read a book with zero expectations but it ends up in your all times favorites list and now you know that you will never forget how understood you felt while reading. i loved all the characters and relationships and how naturally the author captured their feelings. i will definitely read the other books of this author, i LOVE her style

We're only 6 days into 2022 and I've already found a new favorite book! Omg this book was so amazing, if you haven't read it already, please do!

I enjoyed that immensely and am irritated that Ciara Smyth only has one other book published.

Plot-wise and humour-wise, this book was amazing but the secondary characters were not as fleshed as I needed them to be and I kept losing track of them, or this would have got the full five stars.
