Fun and entertaining. I found it interesting how misogynistic he is. Wondering if that is more a sign of the times this was written, or a true reflection of the author's character.
Someday I'll follow in his footsteps. Until then we wait for the day that those who cross borders are not considered criminals by those whose ancestors did the same years ago.
An enjoyable book especially if you have been fortunate enough to have visited some of the places which Bryson writes about.
It would be interesting if he was to do an update in a few years time to see how the fall of communism has had an impact on the places which he visted, especially Yugoslavia.
