I thought I would give book 2 of The Beaumont Series a try and I'm sad to say this one was disappointing as well. It follows Katelyn, who loses her husband in the first book, and Harrison, Liam's band mate. Katelyn was annoying right off the bat. She is too up and down through the entire book when Harrison is nothing but patient with her. The only thing that really made me continue was the relationships Harrison built with Katelyn's two daughters. I probably won't continue with this series.
Meh.
This book could've been better. When I read Forever My Girl, I loved it. I can definitely tell that my tastes have changed because this was a total cheese fest. Don't get me wrong, I liked it and it intrigued me to the point where all I wanted to do was sit down and read it but I didn't love it like I thought I loved the first one. I bet if I went back and did a re-read of the 1st one, I would feel differently about it.
I liked the overall story. Katelyn is trying to cope with raising twin girls after her husband, Mason, dies in a car wreck. Harrison is a single dad who is also a rock star that has the hots for Katelyn.
Harrison and Quinn are what made me like this book as much as I did. Harrison is the perfect man & Quinn is the perfect child. I absolutely loved their relationship.
Katelyn was a dumbass bitch. I got so frustrated with her because she was so stupid. She knocked off a whole damn star by herself.
Other reasons why this was a 3-star read:
1. There were quite a few errors in this book. Most books have a couple of little ones but I felt like there were a lot in this one.
2. The ending felt rushed.
3. The ending was too much of an HEA & it made me cringe because it was so cheesy.
I'm still going to read the next book in the series because I want to at least get through all 3 of the boys books. But, I don't know if I'll read anything else past Jimmy's book.
