David Almond has yet to disappoint me. He is always writing new books that set my little brain to whirring. This new story is no exception. A thoughtful little tale.
Beautiful art. I imagine that everyone will take from this a message that makes sense to them: but to me it was about the changeover from the people who create something (such as a business) and who slow down after awhile and the next gen who will take the idea and run with it. They may make changes that the old guard does not like, or some that they do. At one point, however, the next gen have to make some kind of mark in the world (just as the kids could not stop themselves from making changes in their world). It was rather fantastic. I'm not sure who the audience is here, but I enjoyed it.
