Midnight rogue

Midnight rogue

Some might call it revenge, but Captain Rogan Whitney calls it justice. Still fresh in his memory is the night his entire crew, save himself and his first mate who were able to escape, were slaughtered on the orders of one man. That man is Gerard Pointreau, a man with wealth, power and the backing of the naive and ignorant Governor Claiborne. A man who has the respect of all of New Orleans. A man who made it to where he is through the blood of others. But even the cold and manipulative heart of Pointreau has a weak spot, and that spot is taken by his adopted daughter, Gabrielle. Spirited away from the convent in which she lives, the prim, proper and pampered Gabrielle DuBay is outraged by the actions of the pirate who obviously has some misguided notion about her father being responsible for the deaths of his men and many others. But as the truth slowly unfolds, it becomes sickeningly apparent to Gabrielle that their is more than a little truth to what Rogan says, and although she loves her father, she cannot help her deep feelings for the man he wronged many years before. Gabrielle knows the day will soon come when she must choose between the man who raised her with love and devotion, and the man who now treasures her too much to see her hurt.
