I usually LOVE Hibbert’s work but this just didn’t resonate with me for some reason. I enjoy the idea of it on paper but overall the pacing felt rushed and a bit all over the place. Talia has much better work under her belt than this.
A nice quick and sexy Christmas read.
Kind if an enemies to lovers (Cash is a big ol grump towards Bailey in the beginning)
Had hoped for more spicy scenes but alas.
Very happy ending, no major twists and turns or third act breakup due to a misunderstanding.
4.5 Stars!
I absolutely loved this little book! It was short, sweet & to the point. I honestly wish there were more!
This story is about Bailey & Cash. Bailey is a grad student & works at a coffee shop part time. Cash is a famous tattoo artist that owns his own tattoo shop right down the road from the coffee shop. Cash has been coming in almost daily just to see Bailey, & then one night when she quits her job because her boss is a giant douche, Cash hires her as his receptionist. & that's when their little love story begins.
It went very quickly & my only complaint is that I really do wish that it was longer. I enjoyed all of the side characters & I hope that at least a few of them would get their own book in the near future.
I saw several people talking about how they got this on Amazon for free and that they ended up really loving it. I have been in the mood for Christmas books so I got it myself bot really expecting all that much from it but boy was I wrong.
I don't really know were to start with this review. Lets start with the characters. First off there's Bailey who I love. She is such a strong woman who doesn't want to rely on men, which by the way she doesn't have to because she can definitely take care of herself. The there's Cash who OMG again I love him. He can be an ass sometimes but it's totally understandable and forgivable. Both of these characters have pasts that have shaped who they are as adults but you see them unexpectedly help each other and grow from it.
The book is also wonderfully diverse. Bailey is a POC and there's a gay side character, which I wish we got more of because I loved his parts. Aside from that this book touches on deeper subjects like abuse and intrusive thoughts and I feel like they are handled respectfully. I feel like this I a great representation on how things can affect different people throughout their life.
I don't know what else to say besides that I absolutely loved this book. I found myself laughing out loud several times and my heart broke several times as well. If you haven't read this I highly recommend. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
I picked up this book because I've been hearing some great things about this author and well, I'm not going to turn down reading a Christmas book featuring a tattooed “bad boy” like the two things seem so opposite end of the spectrum, I just had to try.
I'm so glad I did because this book is so adorable. There is giving and caring, there is just the right amount of Christmas talk and quips about decorations to make me smile, and definitely a beautiful romance.
The romance here is so refreshing and healthy I just wanted the story to keep going so I could continue reading such a positive story. Is Cash sometimes an asshole? Yeah, but he respects not only Bailey (our main lead), but everyone else. He never puts anyone down for his own gain and in fact helps a random person get their feet up. Like, he is a flipping teddy bear with a gruff exterior because he has to protect his poor little heart. And Bailey??? Perfect. She knows her worth, she's adorable and sweet, she's smart AF, and she isn't out to fix or save a man with her love. JUST YES. I love this couple and how adorable they are.
Look, if you're looking for a holiday romance: go pick this one up, you won't regret it.
