Book 2 continues Kai's journey into learning more of his history, what being Katori means, and unearthing shocking secrets. People he trusted...he loves...have been lying to him his entire life.

Kai's struggle with family duty, and becoming the prince his kingdom needs, wars with his want to know what being Katori means and with the love he has for Rayna. His want to know prevails. He is determined to find the whole truth...even if that means leaving Dui to find it.

I am really enjoying this series. It's definitely a hidden gem amongst the sea of books, and is a perfect Middle Grade fantasy. It's easy to read, descriptive enough to hold attention, and has characters kids can relate to.

I really enjoy Kai's growth. He still struggles with becoming a young adult and taking on more responsibility but seriously...was 16 turning 17 fun for anyone?
