This was a great end to a fun series. I hope Ms Carriger publishes more novellas of the girls all grown up because I would love to read them.
A rip-roaring finish to a very funny, yet exciting and well written series with absolutely brilliant characters worthy of the great Pratchett himself (Lord Akeldama is just delightful). The Finishing School series is part of the wider “Parasolverse” which continues in [b:Soulless 6381205 Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) Gail Carriger https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1314020848l/6381205.SY75.jpg 6569140]. If you've read the Finishing School and enjoyed it, I strongly recommend diving into [b:Soulless 6381205 Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) Gail Carriger https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1314020848l/6381205.SY75.jpg 6569140] as soon as possible while your memory is fresh as so many of the plot threads continue there.I plan to reread Soulless in the very near future.Thank you Ms Carriger. Thank you very much indeed!
The Picklemen are plotting again, and Sophronia means to find out what they're up to. I love this series, and I am soooo sad that this was the last book. I'd like to see what the ladies end up doing after finishing school. So many characters to love.
So sorry to see this series come to an end, but it did go out with a big badaboom!
My favourite book in the series, as the characters have grown (up) a lot over the course of the stories.
A lovely and satisfying wrap up to the series and a connection to the Parasol Protectorate. At some point it seemed a little crazy that she was that successful against that many adults and there were a few other points that stretched my belief. It just brought me out of the world of the book. Not so much that I would rate it down, but it wasn't perfect. But maybe perfection is a lot to ask for. Overall, good ending to a great series by a fabulous author!
Gail hasn't disappointed in her end to the Finishing School series. I was left very satisfied with the way she tied up the ends, as well as leading into or hinting at her the Parasol Protectorate series. Definitely a feel-good ending. Loved the series, but I really hope she goes back into more adult books with the Prudence series. Hehe. ;)
Now, this is how you end a series!
Love, love, love this book, this world and all these characters. And the ending is spectacular and I love it!
Fun as always from Ms Carriger. The last of Sophronia's adventures in finishing school. I shall miss her.
