I have to admit that I grabbed this book to bump up my Goodreads books read in 2012 number. How can I possibly be reading this much and still be “16 books behind”?
Anyhoo, I LOVED this. What a great read. I love when female characters in books declare that they want more out of a relationship than just holding hands and kisses goodnight. It is realistic and truthful. Poor Marcie is dealing with the collapse of her parents' marriage, and a new school. It is an identity crisis ten fold. Is she just a caretaker to her mother? Is she still in love with the boy she has been dating for a long time, or is he just comfortable? Who can be there for Marcie when she needs someone? Well, the answer comes in the form of coffee and donuts.
I could not put this story down.
