While the concept had promise, the execution fell flat for me. The pacing dragged, with the story progressing only a few days by the end of the book, and the lengthy internal monologues felt unnecessary and exhausting. In short: not for me.
The first book largely introduces the main character's harem and paints a bleak picture of wolf society, where a woman's worth seems reduced to her role as a breeder. As expected, each of her “boys” is depicted as super dangerous, respected, or feared by others. Yet, despite her traumatic past and her own stated wariness of people—especially men—our “tiny elvish with down to her butt hair” FMC conveniently isn't intimidated by them.
Occasionally, there were glimpses of a stronger side to her character, but I'm unsure if that will actually develop. Right now, it feels like her harem's purpose is mainly to keep her overly protected, pamper her, and sleep with her.
