This book started out so well written, and with what I thought had a good plot line. However, the story ended up jumping around way too much, and didnt stick to the most interesting part.
Not bad, but not as good as I had hoped considering I had seen comparisons between Hoffman's work and that of Marisa de los Santos, one of my favorite women's fiction authors. There was a strange sameness to the narrative flow, whether Teddi was recalling an event that took place when she was a young girl or whether she was narrating the present as a mature woman. I liked the supporting characters, and the book's final ten pages were almost enough to raise it half a star.
