If this didn’t start as Practical Magic fanfiction I will be very surprised.
Not feeling the love story at all, boring and meh. And the mystery was kind of meh too, made an early assumption and I was right. Will not continue the series.

I really loved this book because I felt so connected to the characters and the romance in here, while it's only a sprinkle, had me so excited. I didn't guess the murderer at all and because I also live in North Carolina, this really was nice to read.
3.5 rounded up. I really liked that her business wasn't opened yet. Feel like I'm hitting my stride with mysteries
All right...GR swallowed the first review, so here we go with a re-run. Well-written mystery, murder only barely on-page and not gruesome, and an engaging young woman as MC who is struggling to get her sweet-tea shop off the ground. It's squeaky clean and only two or three minor swears in the book.
Highly recommended.
Great new series! I love the idea of an ice tea cafe! Every has spunk and common sense. There were plenty of suspects. The side characters are great. The legends of the island are fun. I will be reading more from this series.
