Since my copy of Little Women was an ebook of the complete series I decided to review it as a whole. I'm not really going to break the review up based on each book I'm just going to talk about my thoughts throughout reading the whole thing. Also thank you Erin for buddy reading this with me. Buddy reading classics is definitely the way to go. If you aren't already following her blog you definitely should do that now.
Ok now to the actual review part of this post. Out of the 3 books in this series my favorite was hands down Little Women/Good Wives if I was reviewing that alone I would give it 5 stars but I'm not so let's move on.
Little Women/Good Wives was so much easier to follow than the other books because there was only a few characters we were following. I was really immersed in the story and we were making guesses about the love interests and we weren't completely right about it which if I'm being honest I am still torn about who some of the characters ended up with. On one hand it works and I love it but it wasn't the way I wanted it to go so yeah.
With the other books there was just sooo many characters that I had a hard time keeping up with who was who and after a while I just gave up trying to remember everyone and just enjoyed the story.
Louisa has a way of making you feel like you need more information but at the same time what she does give you works perfectly and is enough. It's hard for me to explain this. Basically there were some scenes that we flew through and I wanted more from that scene but at the same time it worked. A lot of the scenes I am talking about were emotional scenes and with what she gave us she succeeded at getting me teary eyed.
Overall I really enjoyed reading this series and can now say I have another favorite classic.
