This is a fantastic collection of vignettes featuring conversations of a Black domestic worker in the 1950s. The one-sided dialogues make you feel like part of the conversation and some of Mildred's offhand remarks make it clear what's going on. Many of the messages in the vignettes are sadly still topical today.
