Legendary

Sigh. An enticing plot with great fantasy elements and story arc is consistently stymied by the tragically helpless lead female characters. Why can't they ever have any agency? Even if they end up in what seems to be a position of power, it isn't authentic. They are constantly at the mercy of this man's scheme or that man's plot, and their romantic feelings towards these men keeps them there. And why don't they ever really trust each other? I want to like this series so much, but I can't get around the way Scarlet & Donatella are so easily manipulated. It's like they're not even the main characters in their own stories.
