I adore Penny Reid. Favorite author? She's definitely made the list. I don't think there is a book by her I've disliked.
Look, this book? Amazing. I might have liked it more than Kissing Tolstoy.
This book is a slow burn – my fave. The characters are friends and slowly grow into more. Sure, there are misunderstandings and confusion, but there is a HEA. This couple is so flippin' cute and I laughed so, so much. Also, is private lingerie model a real job?? That sounds... interesting.
I should also mention tw: restrictive eating, body image problems –sorry I don't know the right terms, but this is a heavy issue in the book.
While I read the shorter newsletter version (“Nobody looks good naked”) and reallyreally liked it, the extra scenes from Victor's POV really make this story come together for me.
As always, Penny Reid manages to make me swoon, and smile (and occasionally laugh out loud), and think, she (or rather Victor) also broke my heart and put it together again.
