This is a perfect book for young girls who are just venturing into the world of chapter books. There are black and white illustrations. The map in the beginning of the book is sure to catch the interest of children. Perfect for little girls who love princesses, mermaids, and reading. Many “first” chapter books use words that exceed the vocabulary limits of the intended age group, ths one doesn't. My second grader did well with this.
