This was another book I buddy read with Ashley and we plan to continue on in the series in June. I loved this book. I actually prefer this one to the Bridgerton books so far. I loved both of the characters and their romance. I will say they could have been better at communicating but the lack of communication didn't take over the story like a lot of books do. I found this to be funny and cute and I can't wait to pick up the next book.
Best part was when she was cutting rotting flesh from his leg. The rest was extremely boring. I had to listen on 2x speed just to finish. I wonder if Rosalyn Landor fell asleep narrating...
This was a cute read! I love that Honoria had a bit more of a modern vibe to her, idk, it made it a bit different. I liked that Marcus wasn't a territorial animal, it was a nice mix of territorial & respect. My only issue was the quartet scene, I had to skim through it because the second hand embarrassment was too much lol
Overall....pretty boring. The brawl with her brother and Marcus was soooo dumb and so annoying to read and it does not really make me want to read the next book in which Daniel is somehow the hero.
But it was a quick, light, read and it was...fine.
The scenes where Marcus was bedridden gave me huge “Misery” vibes and maybe I was unable from enjoying the romance because of that, haha.
