Dynamic and interesting, some characters were just exceptionally rude but there were good eggs too

Was a bit repetitive about Salem being this weird, creepy, odd town and Boston being this metropolis.

Incredible writing. It really showed in the audiobook version anyway. :)

Plot - 8
Really interesting. I loved the twists and turns and the way it flowed too.

Intrigue - 8
I was thoroughly intrigued as to where the story was going to go. I ended up reading it in 3 days because I was so invested.

Logic - 7
Fairly logical, though there were some points where I felt the logic slipped a bit.

Enjoyment - 8
I enjoyed it immensely. It was such an emotional and amazing rollercoaster of a book. :D

I've never run across a book with a character that was intersex before, so this one really intrigued me. Unfortunately, I didn't end up enjoying it as much as I had hoped. I found it slow, and the actions of the characters confusing at times. I also loathed Ash's parents. That said, I gave this author an extra star for tackling a hard subject that I haven't seen in a fictional book before (I am sure they are out there). I also quite enjoyed the whole “Salem history” angle. So, a mixed bag with this one...
