"Julius and Macy like to play heroes. Julius pretends he's the defender of the forest, while Macy has a quieter strength. When their snack disappears one night, they decide to track down the only one who could have taken it--the Night Goblin. They both have to be brave in their own ways, and they ultimately discover that the real thief isn't anything like they imagined"--Publisher marketing.

Absolutely Precious
With beautiful artwork and a story wonderfully devoid of rhyme schemes, this book shows kids that sometimes things - and people - aren't exactly what they seem. In just a handful of pages, it manages to portray a complete adventure; as such, I think it would make a lovely bedtime story.
Just try to get a physical copy if at all possible. The kindle edition is dreadfully formatted and doesn't use the normal landscape mode for children's books, forcing constant pinch-zooming and sliding just to see details and read text.
