The best parts of this book were its descriptions of the Bolivian jungle -it brought the environment alive, and it was fun to imagine someone from suburban America finding her way through an entirely new way of life. The story and especially the love story felt one-dimensional, though.
I really enjoyed this different and imaginative read. For this book we follow Lily through the perils of jungle life, learning the ways of the tribe she lives with, while she also learns who she really is deep down.
Even though how Lily got to the jungle is about as far fetched as one can imagine, it made for a good story. It was slow in some parts but was to be expected considering the storyline (Lily adapting to jungle life).
One MAJOR point to make...if you go into this one thinking it's a thriller (as advertised) you will be disappointed. This is in no way a thriller. There are a couple of parts that while exciting are not thrilling. I would categorize this as more of a partial action/drama.
